Loud on purpose. Spinsterly by choice.

Here's a fun fact: "spinster" didn't start as an insult. In the 1300s, it simply meant a woman who spun yarn for a living — a woman with a craft, an income, and no particular need for anyone's permission. Only later did the world decide that an unmarried woman with her own money and her own opinions must be a tragedy.

A self-sufficient woman who makes things and answers to no one? We'll take that label. We'll put it on the sign.

Spinsterly Co is a women-owned shop for people who refuse to shrink. We make apparel, drinkware, stationery, and gifts that say the quiet part loud — whether that's your reading habit, your rage, your politics, your pride, or your cat's superiority complex.

What we believe

We believe difficult women get things done. We believe your rights aren't up for debate. We believe books are dangerous in the best way, queerness is worth celebrating out loud, and a yard sign can be an act of resistance.

Mostly, we believe you shouldn't have to whisper any of it.

What you'll find here

Every design starts with something we actually wanted to wear, drink out of, or stick on a laptop. If it made us laugh, made us feel seen, or made someone at a dinner party deeply uncomfortable — ideally all three — it earned a spot in the shop.

Our collections are built for whoever you're feeling like today: Bookish Baddie for the ones who's to-be-read pile is taller than their patience. Hot Girl Outrage — pretty, and furious about it. Leftist Scum — wear the insult like the badge it is. Queeriosity Shop — loud, proud, and gift-wrapped. Kitty Committee — because the cats were always part of the plan.

Who's behind this

We're two sisters trying to do a deceptively radical thing: live full lives without compromising our values. 

We were raised under patriarchal values, and we've spent our adulthood doing the slow, stubborn work of deconstructing them, figuring out which rules were really ours and which were handed to us. We have standards, we're not lowering them.

We want a better world. One where "little girls can grow up to be anything" is actually true, not a catchphrase that lets girls dream while the systems that oppress us stay perfectly intact. One where who you are isn't measured by what you are. That's what this shop is for. Every tee, mug, and yard sign is a small way of saying those values out loud and helping you say them too. 

At our core, we believe a few things pretty firmly: that love is for everyone, that fairness is worth fighting for, that joy is a form of resistance, and that you can absolutely make a serious point while wearing something genuinely fun. We don't think you have to choose between caring deeply and laughing loudly. We refuse to.
